This course is designed to teach an understanding of the fundamental concepts and applications of the HP Universal CMDB and Application Mapping in the enterprise. Participants gain the knowledge and skills to design and build views to model business applications and infrastructure, implement change management, disaster recovery, assess impact of a failure, and analyze root cause. Discovery and its operation are introduced as a means of auto populating the UCMDB. The discussions and scenario-based lab exercises reinforce hands-on skills for efficient use of UCMDB and Application Mapping.

• Members of the HP Application Mapping project team responsible for CMDB design, modeling, and discovery of enterprise applications and infrastructure.

• Strong general knowledge of IT operations. Familiarity with the ITIL Foundations subject area and Configuration Management in particular.

• Use out-of-the-box and ad-hoc reports and comparison options to track infrastructure changes.

• Gain a basic understanding of Federation and its implementation.
